Evan Williams the master in online publishing business, is at it again. He’s the man behind Blogger, that he sold to Google. He then moved on to co-invent Twitter with Biz Stone and Jack Dorsey.
This time around he teamed up with Jason Goldman and Biz Stone and they came out with something called “Medium,” a brand new publishing corporation. If you remember Blogger allowed people to express themselves in lines and lines of words and Twitter allowed people to tweet in short form of 140 letters. So now the world wide web has Medium, that simply allows people to express their thoughts in a medium length format.
A big question that I’ve heard already here at the office: “what makes Medium different from Blogger?” Well from what I’ve seen, it divides blog posts by topic, it combines the best features from Pinterest taking their pictures to a text level. Like Tumblr it has a huge amount of themes and by with its voting system only the best posts are present above the fold.
Users are able to upload photos and write stories on Medium. I haven’t yet seen a word limit, although posts that have already been written are a couple paragraphs not longer.
As soon as they give us full access to the platform, we’ll be back sharing everything that we found out. Do like us and sign up and take a snoop around: Medium.com
